 In-Services

Points to remember during in-services:

The purpose of the in-service is to better enable the teaching parent to be effective in the classroom with upcoming subject material.  In-services also serve as a means of communication.

If one parent works the majority of the time in the classroom, it would be most beneficial if that parent could attend the in-service.

Because in-services are geared for adults, it would be best if parents could make child care arrangements before attending the in-service.

Respect the short amount of time that the teacher has to present material.

Respect the opinion of others and be careful not to enter into long discussions with parents in the classroom during the in-service time.

Allow the teacher to follow the established classroom in-service agenda for the evening.

Make sure that all individual/personal comments and concerns be dealt with the teacher in a more private/confidential situation. Feel free to make an appointment to speak with the teacher at a time convenient to you both. A good strategy to use is to write down any questions during the in-service.

Please make sure that the designated teacher parking spaces are not taken by parents during in-services or during any other time.
