Parents On Campus

We are very excited about our "Parents On Campus" program. Your presence is essential and appreciated. "Parents on Campus" is on the high school campus during luncheon time to be a positive presence and lend a listening ear. POC will meet on February 20, 2002, 9am, Valmonte Board Rm. We have an exceptional speaker who will be sharing communication ideas. Please plan to attend. We are still looking for volunteers. Even if you could not make the training, we will pair you with a trained volunteer. If you were trained last year, please just come in and let us now which days you are available. Call Lesly at ext. 205 to sign up.

High School Exit Exam
Assembly Bill 1609 was signed by the Governor on October 10, 2001. This bill removes the option for ninth graders to take the exam. Therefore, only tenth graders who did not take the exam on a voluntary basis as ninth graders or who did not pass both portions will be required to take the exam in Spring of 2002. All of the CAHSEE resource materials posted on the Internet will be updated to reflect this change in the regulations. For additional changes resulting from this legislation, read the October update from the CDE Standards & Assessment Division.
