Academic Decathlon, a school organization, has one goal in mind: to reach the national competition that takes place in Chicago.

Before reaching the national competition, the team must compete against fifty Los Angeles schools to determine whether or not the Peninsula team will go to the nationals.

"We were under par last year, but this year we are looking forward to doing well," Academic Decathlon coordinator, Tim Coleman, said.

The competing team consists of nine members divided into three groups. The honors level includes of students with a GPA about 3.6. The B level has students with GPA's of 3.0-3.59 and the final category consists of the below 3.0 GPA's.
