RUNNERS POOL

The Runners Pool consists of about 3% of the staff.

Post Location: Center of baseball field with two stationed at the container
Equipment Location: Container next to Portables M44-45

Equipment includes: Large white board with markers, clipboard, orange vests

PROCEDURES:

1. Each teacher will send at least one student to the student runners’ pool after roll is taken. Student runners must always wear an orange vest and name tag for identification. Runners should always be logged in and out as they are assigned to different areas. Runners must always work in pairs. Runners should be relieved and given adequate rest time. Another runner will relieve runners when the appropriate adult requests them for release.

2. Use the large white board to keep records.

3. As soon as students log in:
Send 10 to the Student Release area.
Send 10 to the Triage area.
Keep others seated near record board so you can quickly assign them to areas in need.

4. Keep in touch with the Command Center, Triage, and Amphitheater. Make messages clear and direct (eg. Triage - Chris Glassy). No long conversations. Delicate information should be sent with a runner not announced over the walkie-talkies.

5. Check runners to prevent exhaustion and dehydration.

6. Assign two people to the containers to assist runners and others needing materials, to keep a record of where materials are, and to put back each item so it can be found and reused.
